War in Syria affecting a generation of Syrian children

Dec.2013:   Estimated 12,000 Syrian children have so far been killed in the war.   Child refugees, over  1 million.  And more than 2 million displaced / homeless within Syria.

Traumatized, physically and emotionally tortured, scarred forever, the innocent children of Syria caught up in this needless and endless war are suffering profoundly.

Zaatari camp in Jordan is one of the biggest refugee camps for displaced Syrians with a large number of children below 14.  Dusty and bleak, Zaatari is rapidly getting over-populated as the war keeps raging in Syria.

School going children who have become refugees living in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey have no access to education.  Instead they're forced to work for survival.   Children as young as seven are working for long hours for very little pay.  According to reports, over 500,000 Syrian children in Lebanon and Jordan are without schooling.

Almost all of these children are emotionally traumatized and continue to face future threats to their physical and psychological well-being.

With the war in Syria going on since almost 3 years, many refugee children are also stateless as the host countries are not registering their birth.

Another bunch of Syrian children are unknowingly facing a different kind of abuse.  In a small segment of the Syrian community  children are being recruited as child soldiers by rebel forces. Also, some Syrian parents supporting the rebels are encouraging their minor children becoming child soldiers.  Some of these gun trotting children are orphaned, they have quit school and they have no homes.

The war is damaging a whole generation of Syrian children in many different ways.

UNFORGETTABLE!
